Project Overview

This project is one of our most complete transformations to date. We took a dated one-bedroom maisonette and turned it into a high-end two-bedroom, two-bathroom home — adding a full side/rear extension, reconfiguring the internal layout, and delivering a level of finish that made it one of the most desirable flats in the area.

The client’s brief was clear: maximise the space, add a bedroom, and achieve a premium finish throughout. We delivered on every count.

Scope of Works

New Extension

To create the additional bedroom and allow the kitchen to expand, we constructed a new extension. The extension was designed to flood the new kitchen space with natural light via a rooflight, creating a bright, airy room that flows seamlessly from the original footprint. Large-format polished stone floor tiles run the full length of the new kitchen, reinforcing the high-end aesthetic.

Bespoke Kitchen Design & Installation

The existing kitchen was stripped back to bare walls. In its place, our in-house team designed and fitted a fully bespoke shaker-style kitchen with shaker style cabinetry, integrated appliances, open shelving, and a striking vertical radiator as a design feature. The result is a kitchen that feels considered and custom — not off-the-shelf.

Full Internal Reconfiguration

We restructured the internal layout to carve out a second bedroom and a new en-suite bathroom. Walls were altered, new partitions built, and the entire floor plan was reimagined — all while maintaining structural integrity and a clean, flowing layout throughout.

Luxury En-Suite Addition

The new en-suite was designed to a boutique hotel standard. Features include large-format grey stone tiles, herringbone-patterned feature wall tiles, a walk-in rainfall shower with black hardware, a vessel basin on a solid oak vanity shelf, and a frameless glass shower screen. Every detail was considered.

Full Bathroom Refurbishment

The existing bathroom was completely gutted — removing the original green suite and tired flooring — and rebuilt to a modern specification. Grey stone tiling, recessed spotlights, a bath with black framed shower screen, and a wall-hung vanity unit replaced what was there before.

Parquet Flooring Throughout

Herringbone parquet flooring was laid across the living areas, hallway, and bedrooms, creating a cohesive, premium feel from front door to back room. Dark hardwood flooring was used in the bedrooms for contrast and warmth.

Full Rewire & New Plumbing

New electrics and plumbing were installed throughout — recessed spotlights, updated consumer unit, and a fully replumbed hot and cold water system to support the new bathroom and en-suite.

The Result

What was a one-bed maisonette is now one of the highest-spec flats in the area. The client gained a full bedroom, a second bathroom, and a kitchen that rivals properties at a significantly higher price point. The combination of bespoke joinery, premium tiling, parquet flooring, and a carefully managed layout reconfiguration delivered a property that is visually stunning and functionally transformed.
